SPG approached Protein to create a multilingual app that helps the newly arrived migrants to settle and strive in Australia. With the suddenly emergence of Covid-19, the app will also function of a health and safety information point for all migrants.

As the design lead at Protein, I was tasked with creating a UX and UI, along with storyboarding the 24 explainer animations embed in the app.

01. Discovery

From the demographic research provided by SPG,
We developed four user personas that represent the target user groups of the application.

02. Approach

Drawing inspiration from information-rich apps like Spotify and the App Store, we chose to present each piece of content in colorful tiles, supported by clean minimalist UI, striking illustrations and animations. All of these elements make the app look clean, engaging and accessible to the end user.

03. User Onboarding

The user onboarding questionnaire personalises the app experience by gathering key information about the user's status and preferences, allowing the app to tailor its features and content from the start.

04. Search Function

The app's simple search lets users quickly find information via a search field or by browsing category tiles, making navigation fast and easy.

05. Explainer Animations

Many articles in the app feature explainer videos with multilingual voiceovers, providing clear visuals and explanations to help visual and auditory learners understand complex information in their preferred language.

06. Multiple Languages

The app offers support in 22 languages, ensuring accessibility for a diverse user base. Both written content and animation voiceovers are available in these languages, allowing users to navigate the app and understand its features in the language they are most comfortable with.

07. My Journey

The "My Journey" feature provides personalised, goal-oriented to-do lists that guide users step-by-step toward their chosen objectives, helping them stay organised and focused throughout their migration journey.

08. Learn English

The app features flashcards for learning English, helping users quickly build vocabulary and language skills. Each card presents common words with definitions in user's native tongue. At the end of each category, a quiz reinforces the material, ensuring users retain what they've learned.

09. Results

The MyAus App won multiple awards for UX Design, UI Design, and Technology. The MyAusCovid App supported thousands of migrants during the pandemic. It was recognised as the #1 Multi-Language digital Covid resource by the IGC on Migration after reviewing all resources created by all countries.
